Description

Proposed changes to the Regulations Amending theRegulations for the Monitoring of Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) would reflect amendments to the original MAID legislation as outlined in Bill C-7.  The regulatory changes would align the reporting requirements with Bill C-7 provisions,  such as changes in eligibility for MAID and new or revised safeguards, as well as broadening reporting requirements to include all.

These amendments would clarify reporting requirement details for health care professionals involved with requests for MAID, following the passage of Bill C-7.

Consultations

Canadians will have the opportunity to provide comments on the regulatory proposal during the Canada Gazette, Part I, public comment period, which is expected to take place in spring 2022 and last 60 days.
